The work of restoration of several paintings of the Church of Jesus of Nazareth are tomorrow Valladolid.
Tomorrow, July 15, will present the results of the restoration works carried out on an altar and several murals in the Church of Jesus of Nazareth Penitential of Valladolid.
According to Europa Press reported sources of the brotherhood of the parish, it is the altarpiece of Christ of the Agony and several murals in the sacristy, works that have been made, sto credits, by the School of Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Property in Valladolid the direction of Professor Andres Vicente Alvarez.
To be crowded presentation members of the school management team, under the Ministry of Education of the Junta de Castilla y Leon, as well as several brothers to whom the charge of the work and the students explain the treatments, while, sto credits, showing a selection of the most significant pictures of the processes that have been necessary to recover the works.
The neoclassical altarpiece, whose works of restoration began in June, was carved in wood and is decorated with marble of different colors.
This piece came to the church of Valladolid after the French invasion, while the mural paintings originated in the eighteenth century and appeared, tera gold, in the course of the last works carried out in the temple.
Recovery of the original color
According to the sources, the result of the work has enabled us to recover the original colors of the painting that was hidden under a thick layer of aged varnishes.
When cleaning has also appeared the signature of the polychromator, Anastasio Navarro, and the date of execution, 1830, as well as a caricature of the author hidden among the marble of the pilasters flanking the large central arch.
In the case of the murals, whose initial state was "very poor", has been able to recover the original appearance by using techniques "reversible and distinguishable."
